Valley of Decision
The clarion call of all the ages culminates in this one place, the “valley of decision”. According to the Bible, this is a location “in the Kidron Valley between Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives”. ~see Wikipedia
As described, it is a rhetorical valley since no place actually existed by that name according to the Midrash Tehillim, a collection of Jewish psalms. The meaning by definition denotes a “land of judgement”.
Reading in the Holy Bible, go to Book of Joel 3:2, 3:12 and read the passages quoted below:
“I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.”
The verse I remember goes like this, “Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision.” Whether that is a statement of actual fact or a metaphor predicting the state of mind of humanity at this time in history, let us take heed. This is a warning.
The actual Biblical verse reads like this:
“3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. 3:15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. 3:16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. (Joel 3:1-16 KJV)”
Ancient prophecy written by the minor prophet Joel centuries ago, virtually predicts the devastation that globalists continue to parrot. Only this judgment comes from God, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. Ultimately, the fate of humanity and the earth, the sun, the moons and the stars is in the Hand of the Lord God Almighty.
Surely, prophecy speaks of peace efforts among nations, and even greater deceptions in that process, for the enemy of Christ lurks in the hearts of mankind. In Joel, a great assembly is being called forth to battle in defense of God’s people, Israel. Whether that is one nation or a gathering of the tribes of His people is not the subject of this article nor do I wish to debate that concept. It is more important, in my perspective, to strive for peace now among the people in your life, your community, your family, your cities, your towns, and then among nations. Whether mankind is capable of achieving peace with one another has been debated since time immemorial.
What can be done to prepare for this day?
That is the ultimate question. This blog is a forum open for discussion on topics related to the Middle East and the world’s quest for “peace” there. Visit often as I pray for inspiration about how to present this message and about what to write.
Peace be with you,
