During an address given at The Saban Forum 2008, President George W. Bush declared the importance of peace in the Middle East to the freedoms of people around the world. The Forum was held at the Newseum in Washington D.C. at the White House on December 5, 2008.

President George W. Bush is exiting the White House in about one month from today, so this speech is crucial to his final efforts to end his Presidential term on a positive note. To quote the President, he stated his beliefs on Middle East peace:

“A great new era is unfolding before us. This new era is founded on the equality of all people before God. This new era is being built with the understanding that power is a trust that must be exercised with the consent of the governed — and deliver equal justice under the law. And this new era offers hope for the millions across the Middle East who yearn for a future of peace and progress and opportunity.”

The epoch tale of the family of Yahweh starts its tribal beginnings with Father Patriarch Abraham. After the birth of Abraham’s son Isaac, the man of God strived to please God in all ways that he could. Abraham was so grateful for the blessing of having a son with Sarah in such an old age, he blessed the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and sought God’s counsel continually. Rarely today does one see such devotion to God as exhibited by Patriarch Abraham. His life is an emulation of true humanity in its diverse joys, passions, struggles, sorrows and triumphs.

Abraham has been one of the main inspirations throughout my life, aside from Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father God. My own grandfather taught the ways of Abraham and honoring the tribal family precepts was an important custom in our family.

To investigate Abraham’s life, begin at the time of his youth to examine how his life was marked as unique and to study how he showed his faith in those early years. It will be important to understand when Abraham realized he would become the Patriarch of nations to time immemorial.

The following questions and statements will be explored in this blog. Please feel free to comment and share in the unfolding of this great tale of history. Email themidnightwriter1@gmail.com if you have questions or if you would like to submit a guest post on this topic.

How did Abraham begin his walk with God?

What role did prophecy play in Abraham’s life?

How often did Abraham receive guidance directly from the Holy Spirit of God?

Did Abraham experience visitation from angels? If so, how many times?

Describe Abraham’s encounters and conversations with angels.

How does Abraham’s life and prohecy for the end times relate to the current times?

One geographic place in history that holds thousands of years of world impacting events in both times past, present and future, is the Great River Euphrates. Even the Middle East Peace movements of these times involve countries and lands and peoples who live along this river. This said, it is worthy of inclusion on any discussion regarding peace in the middle eastern countries of our world.

Scriptures recorded about this region are explicitly clear:

A branch of the river of Eden.Genesis 2:14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

The Great River

Genesis 15:18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

Deuteronomy 1:7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphra

Taken from this web source http://www.bible-topics.com/Euphrates-The.html

The above passages are only the beginning of references contained within the Holy Bible about the role of this great river in the unfolding saga of the family of the seed of Abraham. As a starting place, let us consider the promise made to Abraham then ponder further the final days heralded in the scriptures for all the sons of man until the return of Jesus Christ.

The history of this great river is an epoch tale, one that cannot be told in one casual sitting. Books have been written about this prophetic land and the lives that enumerate it’s fame, that perhaps a lifetime is not sufficient in which to relate the tale. Though this effort may be miniscule, it will be an effort to bring the readers to the heart of a great land, nations and peoples to the very crossing on the way to the promised land.

Any readers who wish to contribute, or suggest details, facts, information or to share their passion about this topic, I urge you strongly to please leave a comment. Email me at themidnightwriter1@gmail.com if you wish to share on a larger scale.

This is the most eventful time in history and we are all here to live it. Embrace it with passion and deep love. Watch it unfold with discerning hearts, minds and spirits. These days are not for the feeble of heart or spirit. If we drink from the well of love given us by our ancestors, we will find the key to weather the stormy journey.

The topics to be discussed and explored will be as follows:

• The Life of the Patriarch Abraham

• Promises Made to Abraham’s Seed

• Overthrow of Egypt and Consolation from Jeremiah to Baruch

-see Jeremiah 36, The Holy Bible

• Prophecy of the Valley of Jehoshaphat

• War in Iraq

• Promises made to Moab, Edom and Ammon

The actual damming of this great river has been taking place for about a decade. Prophecy talks about the day that the waters of the great river shall be dried up to make way for the kings of the east to pass through on dry land. That day is near.

The world maintains a strong desire for peace in the middle east.

The world’s leaders have increased pace in their efforts to bring peace to the middle east.

President -Elect Barack Obama has taken strides to become informed and prepared for the enormous task that awaits his presidential term regarding foreign relations.

1. To sum up his preparation efforts, Barack Obama visited with the King Abdullah of Jordan before the election. In turn, King Abdullah has taken strides since taking the ruling throne in 1999, which will be discussed in this blog at length. Obama knew that relations with King Abdullah regarding efforts for peace in the middle east were crucial, even if Jordan is not a primary economic interest.

2. Prior British Prime Minister Tony Blair expressed personal urging to Barack Obama that the President-Elect would take a strong interest in the middle east peace process. Blair said Obama would be able to address the real issues, such as peace between the Israeli’s and Palestinians and poverty in all Middle East nations as well as Africa.

3. Still looking to Obama as a sort of miracle worker in the middle east peace process, Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak expressed his strong hope that President - Elect Obama would work very hard in this international effort. President Mubarak believes that settling the conflict between the Palestinians and the Israeli- Arabs is the key to this peace process.

4. President Elect Barack Obama shows continued interest in meeting with delegations of world leaders and American advisors for international affairs to absorb the broad scope of responsibility he is taking on as America’s commander-in-chief. Pray to God it will be in peace and not more war. His efforts show intent to work hard in the middle east process, as the world watches with baited breath while administrations change hands both in America and the Middle East.

5. President George W. Bush met on November 20, 2008 with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to discuss their hopes of a continued peace process based on their concerted efforts.

Appearances relate a state of affairs in our world that reflects a changing political climate. During the American United States Presidential campaign, slogans of “change” resonated throughout the nation, on the airways, in television reports, and in the news on repeated broadcasts.

During the President Elect’s campaign, Barack Obama sounded the trumpet for “change” more so than the other candidates. Indeed, Obama winning the election to be America’s next president is a monumental fulfillment of the prophetic cry for change. As the first African descent President in the United States of America, his very term in office signifies the greatest change this nation has seen. He is the living icon of the hope he presented to seek with audacity.

The title for President -Elect Barack Obama’s book, The Audacity of Hope, signaled the changing political climate, to which this nation obviously succumbed willfully. In my honest opinion, ending the taboo of race in high political office is a grand and noble event in human history. However, I do not believe that race alone merits a qualified candidate for the incredible task at hand of changing the entire social and political system of a nation.

Is America ready for an overhaul like having a classic 1957 Chevy rebuilt to fit the model appearance of a vehicle that is hot on the 2009 list of “cars to buy”? Will an overhaul of a nation change the heart and soul of that same country that was built on the dreams of those who built classics like the 1957 Chevy?

And finally, will a nation as great as America stand by and watch as the changing political climate deemed as necessary “change” in the minds of hopeful rising politicians without raising their voice or their hand?

One can only watch to see.

What does this “change in America” mean for the Middle East and the generation long peace process of nations? It means that diplomats and ambassadors for peace will have to strive with all their heart and soul to keep the machinations of change from bulldozing the merits of sound democracy and real peacemaking into the rubble of a civilization that was built upon the precepts of freedom.
